Corporate Finance specialists gather for Lincoln Conference
Nicholsons has hosted a meeting of a national group of experts in raising finance to help businesses to develop and grow.
Nicholsons are founding members of The Corporate Finance Network, a group of independent accountants and business advisers from across the UK that specialise in business transactions of up to £3 million, including mergers and acquisitions, with particular expertise in working with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The network held its fourth national conference in Lincoln on 2-3 October, with representatives of member firms gathering for a busy programme including training sessions and workshops.
The training sessions looked at topics including finding buyers for SME clients who want to sell their businesses and key issues to focus on in the current market, while the workshops gave members the chance to brainstorm new ideas. Issues discussed included recruiting, motivating and keep senior staff and managers.
The conference, which took place at the Holiday Inn, Brayford Wharf North, concluded with a visit to Nicholsons’ offices at The Point, Weaver Road, Lincoln.
Richard Hallsworth, Business Advisory Services and Corporate Finance Partner at Nicholsons, said: “We are delighted to have hosted the network’s national conference, which is a valuable tool in helping members to learn from each other to further develop services to clients.
“In a difficult economic climate, corporate finance expertise is a vital tool to assist businesses strengthening their competitive edge, forward planning, fundraising for growth and advising on mergers and acquisitions, including valuations and exit planning for owners deciding to step aside or retire.”
