Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW)
As a firm of Chartered Accountants we are registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the largest professional accountancy body in Europe, as a Member Firm. Five of our Partners and a quarter of our accounting and tax team are either full members or studying for membership at the current time.
The Institute was established in 1880 by a Royal Charter and is now one of the worlds leading financial bodies. Financial Services Authority (FSA)
As we offer financial services we are also authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. The FSA is an independent non-governmental body that regulates organizations and individuals who work in the financial services industry. At Nicholsons we have registered individuals and team members training to become registered individuals of the FSA.
As part of our FSA registration we have also signed up with the FSA’s, ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ initiative which is designed to ensure, through a wide range of guidance and rules, that customers get a fair deal from each and every interaction with an Independent Financial Advisor. Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)
Our Employment advisors who advise clients on all aspects of Human Resources and Management training are all members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). The CIPD aims to lead the development and promotion of good practice in the field of Human Resources and Personnel Development. As with the ICAEW the CIPD was granted Royal Charter, on 1 July 2000.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
As a marketing professional Richard Hallsworth is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Formed in 1911 as the Sales Managers Association today the CIM has over 55,000 members and students and has the aim of becoming the worlds leading professional body for marketing. The CIM is an authority on marketing practice and standards and is acknowledged by governments, marketeers and business leaders.

Nicholsons are proud to be founding members of The Corporate Finance Network. This is a group of accountants and business advisors across the country that specialises in sub £5m business transactions and specific SME Corporate Finance work.
